The private family owned A&S Restaurants consist of six unique experience restaurants in the centre of Helsinki. The company was founded in 1994 by Ms Anne and Mr Sakari Tainio and the letters of their first names gave the name for the company. Altogether A&S Restaurants have seats for 1500 customers and is an employer for 100.
You can choose from the pure tastes of Lapland in Saaga, the best titbits of Finnish cooking in Savotta and Savu, the gems of Russian cuisine in Saslik, Finnish delicacies in summer restaurant Saari and Scandinavian flavours in summer restaurant Saaristo. A&S Restaurants offer unforgettable surroundings for parties up to 400 persons, festive dinners, lunches, meetings, private parties and theme events.
The history of A&S Restaurants can be considered to have started in 1972, when Timo T. Kaukonen established Saslik. Saslik came under the ownership of the present proprietors in 1994. In the summer of 2000, the summer restaurant Saari with its maritime atmosphere came along, and in April 2002 the legendary funcktionalist restaurant Bulevardia (est. 1938) joined the family. Unfortunately, the peak period of Bulevardia had passed and for that reason the restaurant was transformed into the Lappish restaurant Saaga at the beginning of 2004. In November 2005 the restaurant Savotta, deeply rooted in Finnish logging traditions, was established on Aleksanterinkatu, next to the Senate Square. At the beginning of 2007, the storehouse restaurant Tervasaaren Aitta on Tervasaari island came under the ownership of A&S Restaurants. On1st of May 2010, Restaurant Saaristo on Klippan Island came to the restaurant family.
